About Begoma

For almost 50 years, Begoma has supported businesses with transport and logistics solutions across Europe and beyond. Headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, the company also operates in the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Zambia, and other international locations.

Begoma’s services cover the full range of logistics: road, rail, sea, intermodal, and express transport, along with warehousing, cross-docking, and third-party logistics. They work across industries such as construction, steel, timber, and paper, handling everything from full loads to smaller shipments.

The business is 100% family-run. Fredrik Malmberg and his two brothers manage the company their parents founded, with Fredrik focusing on the “engine room” — HR, IT, and the processes that keep operations running behind the scenes.

As Begoma expanded into new markets, those responsibilities grew more complex. HR in particular became central to keeping the business aligned across borders. From onboarding new hires in different countries to managing time off, training, and employee data, Fredrik needed a system that could support people operations as reliably as Begoma handles its logistics.

The HR software challenge

As Begoma’s operations spread across multiple countries, managing HR processes became increasingly demanding. What they had in place was a system that looked complete on paper, but in practice it wasn’t the right fit for the business. Many of the features were designed for larger organizations and simply weren’t relevant to Begoma’s needs. In reality, only a small fraction of the system was being used, while the rest added unnecessary complexity.

At the same time, the essentials — like keeping track of employees across borders, aligning onboarding practices, and centralizing time off and training data — were harder than they should have been. The cost of maintaining such a system felt out of balance with the value it actually delivered.

Fredrik began looking for a simpler, more flexible HR solution. What he needed was a platform that could automate processes, bring everything into one place, and at the same time provide an integrated learning system to support onboarding and ongoing employee training.

Begoma’s journey with TalentHR

Switching to TalentHR alongside TalentLMS gave Begoma the balance they needed: two dedicated platforms, each focused on doing its job well, but with strong native integration to work seamlessly together.

Fredrik had the HR platform up and running in just a day, including domains and Microsoft SSO. The features were practical and immediately useful, from performance indicators and surveys to time off management, and became part of the company’s daily workflow.

Onboarding and training, which had previously been inconsistent across countries, are now centralized through TalentLMS and directly connected to employee data in TalentHR. This integration made it easier to welcome new hires and provide ongoing learning without having to juggle multiple disconnected tools.

The flexibility of the platform also opened the door to more creative uses! Begoma built a reception screen that pulls information from TalentHR to display birthdays, absences, and who’s working from home; a small yet meaningful way to keep employees connected.

The support team has been very reliable. When I report a bug or raise a question, they don’t just acknowledge it — they usually come back with a fix the same day.
